“Maine Forest Rally videos released by 321GoVideo”
ST. LOUIS, MO - 321GoVideo releases four videos covering the PGT battle between Tanner Foust
and Matthew Johnson along with Open class driver Tom Lawless. The Maine Forest Rally, held on
July 21-22, was the second rally to determine the final X Games spots and many top drivers came
to contest for the positions. All four videos can be viewed free of charge at

Each video highlights the day long battle as the drivers tackled the elements in an attempt
come away with a victory. With over 80 miles of rough unpaved rally roads this was one of the
most tortuous rallies on the Rally America calendar.
Tanner Foust, along with his co-driver Scott Crouch, came away first in PGT and seventh overall
and only inflected minor damage to their Flatirons Subaru WRX. Both Tanner and Matthew were going
back and forth over the two days, each bettering the other on stage times, but Tanner wrapped up
the victory after Matthew suffered a flat tire on one of the many rocks lining the roads.
After the event, Tanner said "Maine is an interesting rally because of all of the huge rocks and
interesting terrain, it almost feels as if you are randomly chosen to be taken out of the rally sometimes..."
Matthew Johnson and co-driver Kim DeMotte were looking to come home with a class victory but
eventually the rough roads were too much and a rock caused a flat tire, broken wheel, becoming stuck
in bushes, and ultimately a 17 minute delay. Both managed to fix their car and finish out the rally
third in class.
"That’s the way that rallying goes sometimes, I had high hopes, pushing really hard and feeling
really good and suddenly I got a flat and everything changed" said Matthew.
Tom Lawless and co-driver Rod Hendricksen came to the rally with their Open class 2003 Mitsubishi
Evo 8 but regrettably had power issues early on. Tom explained that "The second stage, the car went
into a limp mode, about three miles to go and couldn’t figure out what was really going on... it was
obviously an electrical problem, the car went fine and had no problems the next two stages" They
managed to stay competitive throughout the weekend and finished sixth overall, 1 minute 28 seconds
behind the winner Ramana Lagemann.
The completion of Maine Forest marks the fifth round out of nine in the Rally America National
Championship. The next rally is the Ojibwe Forest Rally in Bemidji, Minnesota at the end of August.
