We loaded up the truck tonight and are ready to go in the morning.

Rally West Virginia here we come!
Well… Mark, Terec (friend that is going to help crew for us), and I leave for West Virginia tomorrow morning. We have the car about 99% done. There are always things that seem to slip by, but for the most part everything is complete.
I’m going to try something new. I have configured the website (www.321govideo.com/rallybug)Â Â to interact with Twitter and Flickr so I can send in updates from my phone. Most of my recent posts have used this new method and it seems to be working out great. So, with that said, as long as i can get out a text message from my cell phone, I’ll be sending in updates as the rally progresses. Pretty cool, huh?
So, if you want to follow the progress of the team, just visit this site every so often from Thursday July 31 – Saturday August 2. You can also visit the Twitter and Flickr pages directly.
Mark finished up with the car last night while i went out and bought last minute items (tools, food, impact wrench…) next stop wv!

Mike H. Has graciously allowed mark and i to borrow his trailer to tow the bug to rally wv. Thanks mike! We pick it up tomorrow. <Joh …

Our dad came over last night to help me install a new truck hitch. It took longer than expected… Seems to always happen

Mark finished up the scissor jack mount and modified it to allow it to lift the car with the cordless impact. Cool… Only 2 days to left!
We got the car tuned this past weekend. Somehow we lost power since the last time
But the good news is our A/F ratio is better <J …
Mark and i are putting the finishing touches on the rally bug for the up coming rally west virginia this weekend. <John>
I’m getting real excited wIth only one week to go before the rally. We have finished most all of the prep work for the Bug, but there are a few items that we still need to get done. John ran a 2nd speed sensor probe to the right front wheel, so in case of failure we have a backup sensor for the rally computer. I will need to weld on a steel tab to the front hub so the probe can be mounted. I also need to fabricate some new mud flaps and a new mounting system. The old ones were a pain in the butt to take on/off and it would help if they were easier to service.
I also hope to go get the car dyno tuned so our MPG is a bit better. There are some long legs to Rally WV and we need to make sure we don’t run out of gas.
